Veteran Kenyan Gospel act Pitson signs with UMG EA, announces new album
Renowned Kenyan gospel musician Pitson, celebrated for his memorable tracks such as ‘Lingala Ya Yesu’ and ‘Uvumilivu’, has entered into a licensing agreement with Universal Music Group East Africa (UMG EA). This collaboration will enable UMG EA to manage the distribution and promotion of Pitson’s rich music catalog, allowing his work to resonate with a broader audience both at home and abroad.
“I am happy and blessed to be part of the UMG family. God has seen me through the music industry thus far and this is another sign of His grace and love that I will choose to walk with him,” Pitson mentions.
Hitting the floor running, the award-winning singer has announced an album with the esteemed record label titled ‘Brand New Me’ set for March 7th that marks a return into the music fray following a stint off the grid.
“I decided to take a break from music and take time for personal growth. I’m excited to embark on this journey and share some songs I have written over the years that will restore faith and hope to my fans and believers,” Pitson says of the new album.
Speaking on the signing of the ‘Niache Niimbe’ singer, Universal Music Group East Africa General Manager Chinasa Udeala expressed his excitement at working with one of the country’s revered Gospel acts.

He shot to fame with his afro-fusion hit song ‘Lingala Ya Yesu’ that solidified him as a unique urban gospel artist. Other songs that spearheaded his fame were ‘Niache Niimbe’ and ‘Kilele.’ Now a Reverend, Pitson misters through music, his latest project ‘Pale Ulipo,’ featuring Karura Voices, is gaining traction.
