Davido Hails Chioma’s Support in Creating His Hit Album ‘5ive’

Afrobeats icon Davido has revealed how his wife, Chioma, played a vital role in the production of his latest album, ‘5ive’, which has quickly climbed global music charts.

The album, which dropped on April 18, 2025, features 17 tracks and includes collaborations with international stars such as Grammy winners Victoria Monét and Chris Brown. ‘5ive’ made a strong debut, landing the number 2 spot on the World Albums chart with 7,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week.

Speaking in a recent interview, the DMW boss credited Chioma for keeping his spirit high during the creative process. “Shoutout to Chioma, when I was recording the abulm, she was around and gave me the energy to work”, He stated.

The singer also shared that Chioma has a personal favorite from the album. “We talked two days ago, and she’s starting to lean towards ‘10 Kilo’ as her best track,” he added, pointing to her constant encouragement throughout the process.
